PopMCP uses essential technologies needed to authenticate users and operate the Service securely, together with product analytics and session recording used to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. We do not use advertising or cross-site ad-tracking cookies.
1. Overview
Cookies are small text values stored by your browser. PopMCP also uses related technologies such as local storage and session storage for limited application state. These technologies help us keep sessions active, secure account flows, remember preferences, and operate reliably.
2. Essential Authentication and Security Cookies
Essential cookies and tokens support core functionality and cannot be disabled without breaking the Service. They are used for:
- signed platform session cookies that keep an authenticated user signed in;
- Google OAuth and invitation state used to validate redirects and prevent request forgery;
- security checks and protection of sensitive account actions;
- basic application routing, such as directing signed-out users to the correct sign-in or sign-up screen.
3. Preferences and Local Storage
PopMCP may use local storage and session storage to remember interface preferences, dismissed notices, and temporary application state, and to avoid repeating certain requests within a single browser session. This storage remains in your browser and does not contain provider credential values or token secrets.
4. Hosted Checkout and Billing Technologies
When you use hosted checkout, invoice, or subscription-management flows, PopMCP and our payment partner Stripe may rely on cookies, tokens, or device identifiers to preserve secure redirect state, prevent fraud, and complete billing-related actions.
5. Product Analytics and Session Recording
We use Mixpanel, a product-analytics provider, to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. Mixpanel runs for all visitors and signed-in users. Choosing the necessary-only option in our cookie banner does not switch it off, and the banner says so.
Through Mixpanel we record:
- product events describing actions taken in the Service, such as signing up, connecting a tool, inviting a teammate, or changing a plan;
- automatically captured page views, clicks, and form interactions;
- session recordings, which replay what a page looked like and how it was interacted with;
- account and user identifiers, including your email address, so activity can be attributed to your account;
- device, browser, and IP-derived approximate location information.
Session recordings mask the contents of form inputs, so credentials, API keys, and other values you type are not captured. Elements that display secrets, such as your MCP endpoint URL and connector credential fields, are excluded from recording entirely. Sensitive route tokens and identifiers are scrubbed before capture.
Mixpanel processes this information in the United States on our behalf, under the terms described in our Data Processing Addendum. Where applicable law such as the GDPR requires a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service. You can object to this processing, or ask us to delete the information held about you, using the contact details at the end of this Policy.
6. What We Do Not Use
PopMCP does not use advertising cookies, does not engage in cross-site behavioral ad tracking, and does not sell personal information. We do not use the analytics described above to build advertising profiles or to target you on other websites.
If we later introduce advertising technologies, or any technology for which applicable law requires your prior consent, we will provide an appropriate consent mechanism before activating it and update this Policy.
7. Third-Party Technologies
Third-party services you interact with through PopMCP, including Google sign-in, our authentication and infrastructure providers, and Stripe hosted billing, may place or rely on their own cookies or similar technologies under their own policies. PopMCP does not control cookies or device identifiers used directly by those providers.
9. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect technical, legal, or product changes. The updated version will be posted with a revised "Last updated" date.
